In the realm of management education in India, the XAT (Xavier Aptitude Test) shines as a beacon of excellence. Conducted by the prestigious XLRI (Xavier Labour Relations Institute), Jamshedpur, on behalf of the Xavier Association of Management Institutes (XAMI), the XAT is a national-level management entrance examination that paves the way to esteemed B-schools across the country. As you embark on your XAT journey, understanding its intricacies is crucial. The Two-Part Challenge: The XAT examination unfolds in two distinct parts, spanning a total duration of three hours: Part 1: This segment encompasses three core sections - Verbal and Logical Ability, Decision Making, and Quantitative Ability and Data Interpretation. The number of questions and the allocated time for each section may vary from year to year. Part 1 evaluates candidates' analytical prowess, data interpretation skills, and decision-making acumen. Part 2: This section comprises General Knowledge and Essay Writing. General Knowledge delves into diverse fields such as Politics, History, Geography, Science and Technology, Business and Economics, and Sports. The essay writing component challenges candidates to articulate their thoughts effectively on a given topic within a stringent time frame. The official notification for the XAT exam is already out and is expected to be conducted on 7th January 2024.
Candidates must hold a bachelor's degree that took three years or more to complete in any discipline from a recognized Institute. Candidates in the final are also eligible to appear for the XAT exam. The XAT exam does not require a minimum pass percentage.
