Comprehensive Roadmap to CAT Admission in 2024

The Indian Institutes of Management (IIMs) conduct the Common Admission Test (CAT), a prestigious national admission test in India. Other top MBA schools, such as FMS, IIFT, SPJIMR, IITs, and MDI, will also provide MBA admission in 2025 based on CAT 2024 scores, in addition to the 21 IIMs. It acts as a springboard to esteemed postgraduate management programmes offered by leading business schools nationwide.

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA (EXPLAIN ALL THE CRITERIA)

• Before the commencement of CAT 2024 registration in August 2024, applicants are required to confirm their eligibility for the exam. In 2024, only those who fulfil the requirements will be permitted to take the CAT.
•   Applicants must have a bachelor’s degree in any field and achieve at least a 50% score in the NC-OBC and General categories. A minimum of 45% is needed for applicants who are SC, ST, or PWD.
•  Any university established by an Act of the central or state legislature in India, any other educational institution declared to be deemed a university under Section 3 of the UGC Act, 1956, or any equivalent qualification recognised by the Ministry of HRD, Government of India, must validate the candidate’s bachelor’s degree.
• Candidates for final-year bachelor’s degrees who satisfy the required grade point average are eligible to take the test. On the other hand, admissions will be cancelled if this condition is not met in later stages.
• The CAT exam is open to anybody with a professional degree, such as CA, CS, or ICWS.
•     CAT 2024 is open to participants of all ages and does not impose any age limitations.

CAT EXAM REGISTRATION PROCESS 2024

•  A candidate must go to the official website and fill out the “New Candidate Registration” form with their basic details to register as a new candidate. 
• They will get an OTP for registration verification after submitting.
•   Candidates will get a login ID and password on their registered email address and phone number on the completion of the verification process.
•     Applicants may immediately start filling out the application form with the required data.
•  In addition to choosing the place of the interview, candidates can also choose the courses they wish to take part in.

•  For the CAT 2024 exam, candidates may select up to six desired test cities.

CAT APPLICATION FEES

• The application fees must be paid to complete the registration process, and they may only be submitted online.

•   Candidates will also get a chance to check their application before completing the form and paying for it.

• Within a few minutes following a successful payment, applicants will get an email confirming their enrollment.

PREPARATION METHOD  FOR CAT

If you are preparing for the CAT exam, then adhere to the guidelines provided.

• Creating a study plan: Create a study plan and follow it; monitor your progress; and complete exam questions to gauge your understanding. Another thing to keep in mind is that if your old study habits aren’t working for you, it’s fine to change them up.
  All you have to do is monitor your progress and adjust the plan as necessary. Remember, no plan or technique is perfect; you have to do what suits you the best.
  
• Practice previous year’s question paper: You can determine your abilities and weaknesses by rehearsing past years’ question papers and mock exams.A crucial element in successfully passing the CAT is selecting the right questions. Before attempting a question, make sure you have given it a thorough analysis and only move further if you are certain you can answer it.
  
• Online Mock Testseries for CAT and their significance: Another method to study at home for the CAT exam is to prepare for mock exams.
  Online Mock tests series for CAT come in a variety of forms. To ascertain their degree of experience, applicants must take the test.
  

EXAM DAY STRATEGIES

• Last-minute tips: Learning a topic in its entirety now will cause confusion. Learning a new subject lowers understanding and makes it harder to recall previously taught material, which is the main drawback. Only topics in which candidates are assured should be the focus of their attention and refinement.
• Time management during the exam: From the beginning of your CAT preparation, time management is a crucial component that needs to be taken into account. There is a 40-minute sectional time limit. As you prepare, note how long it takes you to answer each question. As you advance, try to increase both your accuracy and speed.
